The
Cecil County Militia (Caecil Militia) were out in force at Elk Landing on Labor Day weekend,
2000. Demonstrations of firearms, candle making, bobbin lace making, cooking
demonstrations and much more were underway. A skirmish re-enactment with the
Tories landing at Elk Landing with musket fire and full dress uniforms added excitement to the day.
The Cecil Militia re-enact history in the time frame of 1760
to 1840. Their authentic historical encampment enabled us to experience life as
our forefathers lived it. The Elk Landing Foundation would like to offer
our heartfelt thanks to this group for helping to keep our history alive!
