Visiting Customs in Victorian Times

In Victorian Times, social etiquette and neighborly interactions played a significant role in daily life. Here are some key aspects of this practice:

Neighbors would often visit each other in the early afternoon, a time designated for social calls. This practice fostered community ties and allowed individuals to maintain relationships.

Calling Cards

If a neighbor was not home during a visit, it was customary to leave a calling card. This small card served as a polite notification of the visit, allowing the homeowner to acknowledge the call later.
