Our Work

One of the missions of our foundation is to enhance educational opportunities through the continued restoration of the Hollingsworth House and the Stone House, which the Stone House proudly holds a place on the National Register of Historic Places. We are also excited to revamp the Kitchen Garden, incorporating more native plants to provide seasonal enjoyment and beauty. Stay tuned for as we continue to preserve our heritage and enrich our community!

In 2025 we are working on bidding out some work to fix some structural issues with the house.  Your Generous donations help to fund the continued restoration of this building.

Hollingsworth House

Rebuilt after a fire in 1848, the Hollingsworth House has a rich and varied history.  In 2025 we are trying to use grant monies to find a vendor to renovate the second floor above the kitchen so that the Foundation can interpret the second-floor enslaved quarters.  If you know carpentry and Stucco, we could use your help with maintaining the outside of the building.  Contact us at elklandingfoundation@gmail.com for more information.
